Roundtable 5 - What Have We Learned and Where Are We Going? - November 18, 2010
In the final roundtable of this series, we featured presentations that presented an overview of greywater activities since the implementation of California Plumbing Code Chapter 16A. Items highligted included the following:- residential permits applied for
- systems installed (laundry to landscape and permitted)
- formal or informal discussions (ie. local groups discussing greywater, or water districts talking about an incentive program)
- greywater programs, trainings, workshops that have happened in your area
- local policies that have changed or incentive programs created as a result
- lessons learned
Laura Allen of Greywater Alliance and Greywater Action discussed developments across the state of California and Sherry Bryan of the South Coast Graywater Alliance discussed activities in the Monterey Bay area.
Juliet Christian-Smith from the Pacific Institute also presented a discussion on the potential for greywater to help California meet the goals of the 2020 Plan (20% reduction by the year 2020).
